What Makes a Good Mathematician? Reflection Tool

In What Makes a Good Mathematician? you can read about the five key ingredients that we think characterise successful mathematicians. Perhaps you might like to record your own mathematical strengths and weaknesses! We have created a pathway for each of the five ingredients so that you can colour in squares to represent your mathematical profile.

You can print off a sheet with two copies of the diagram, or this sheet which has space for you to write any reflections about your mathematical strengths and weaknesses, or this sheet which includes the diagram and the descriptions of each strand.

Perhaps you could give yourself a score based on your strengths and weaknesses, and colour in the squares to represent it. Then after you've worked on some problems you could colour in more squares to represent the progress you have made.
