You can drag numbers 1-9 from the table onto the balance trays.
You can create larger numbers using the calculator tool - simply enter the number using the keys.
Clicking on 'OK' puts a box around your number, which you can now drag to one side of the balance.
You can also use the calculator tool to create one side of a number sentence (e.g. 17-2).
Clicking on 'OK' again makes a box around it, which you can drag onto the balance.
As you drag a number or number sentence onto a tray, you will know when you can 'drop' it in place as the balance will become a slightly lighter colour.
You can take numbers/number sentences off a tray at any time.
Place this "worm" on the 100 square and find the total of the four squares it covers. Keeping its head in the same place, what other totals can you make?
